Sunset at Tab-ang Leyte en route to Canigao Island

Sunset at Tab-ang Leyte en route to Canigao Island

I was checking out old pictures in an effort to clean my computers memory since I notice it’s starting to run very slow considering it’s a Core DUO. I remember taking this picture around 2 years ago, it was a family trip to my lolo’s home town tab-ang Leyte. Just opposite of the place is Canigao island; a small island which is also a marine sanctuary.

Canigao Island is actually a perfect place to relax and unwind since the water is clean and very cold. It’s actually a very nice Summer Destination! It’s only a fast craft and a multicab away from cebu.

On Clouds and Optimism

“A pessimist only sees the dark side of the clouds, and mopes; a philosopher sees both sides and shrugs; an optimist doesn't see the clouds at all--he's walking on them.”

Work Memo

For the past couple of weeks I have been really busy with work and stuff. Yes! You got it right Work!
Workload has significantly increased in the past couple of weeks. Bjorn my partner at work has just resigned and what was once divided into 2 is now being done entirely by me since Paolo the new guy just got his access to the tools that we use. (Trust me I am not complaining! In fact I love it when I am busy!)

Do that is why for the past couple of weeks my blog has been stagnant… Apologies for that!

At work no matter how busy we are we always take time to smile, visit friends in their station (during lunch or breaks) and yes even have time to post for pictures via Logitech webcam.
It’s only 2 mega pixel so the resolutions is not good.

Here are some of the webcam shots from Jenny! Click click!

Wonder Woman Gets Makeover!

To all DC comics fan out there; I juts heard the news that after saving the world for the last 69 years!
Wonder Woman is finally getting a wardrobe make-over.

Check it out!

According Writer J. Michael Straczynski who is taking over writing the comic, commented on a DC Comics blog post, "I wanted to toughen her up, and give her a modern sensibility." She's been saving the world for 69 years. If you ask us, it's only fair that she finally treat herself to some new threads.

So, what are the specifics? The biggest news is that she'll lose the hot pants, and wear tight blue pants instead. The famous bracelets are still around, but, according to Straczynski, they'll be more colorful, "with a script W on each of them that form WW when she holds them side by side…and if you get hit by one of them, it leaves a W mark." As Straczynski puts it, "this is a Wonder Woman who signs her work."

For the full story visit:

Personally, it really doesn’t matter what she wears. She is still one of my favorite DC characters of all time!

Patria De Cebu’s Reflexo-Foot-Theraphy

It has always been the tradition that after a very long and strenuous trip or even a work week.
We should get pamper ourselves with either a SPA or a massage.  After our grueling yet very fun day trip from Alcoy my body was in need of some sort of healing touch. Tart suggested that we go have a reflexology at Patria de Cebu, I actually got curious and excited at the same time.

They call it Reflexo-Foot-Theraphy, their clinic is located on the left side of the Patria de Cebu building.
This is part of their Alternative Healing Clinic; it is recommended that you do this at least once a week.
To give you a brief background on what it’s all about:

Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hand with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. it is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change to the body”

Here is the MAP

In Patria De Cebu’s Reflexo-Foot-Theraphy is totally different from all the Spa’s or massage centers that you have encountered. First, you will need to bring your own towel and buy their Mineral Oil and 40% Alcohol.
Since they mostly rely on Donations so there is no standard amount.

If this is your first time, it’s going to be a bit painful. But if you are going to have it on a regular basis then the pain will be lessen.

So I suggest you go give it a try!

Tsubasa Chronicles Eye Opener

As I was re-reading the Tsubasa Chronicles Online since i had a hard time locating the manga series online.
I stumbled upon this page which was an eye opener for me, since I am currently creating a post about a company manufacturing a strong anti oxidant. I stumble upon Wikipedia’s list of life expectancy per country and it struck me. The average life expectancy in the Philippines is 71 years after birth.

So this line made me Ponder:

And it made me question myself, are you living the life you wanted or even on the road to it?

I am now 25 years old and I am still very far from where I want my life to be. Still far from my goals in life and this post will be sort of a “note to self”

that life is too short and we need to make every second count.
We need to live for the things we believe in No Matter What!

Tingko Beach Alcoy

Tingko Beach in Acoy was not bad at all for a late “Day at the beach”.
We decided to a day trip to there so that we could relax.
It has been a while since me and my friends had a beach day, two years to be exact.

But the 2 and a half hour ride from the city is quite exhausting, thank god tart and I grabbed a light drink at VIP the night before. So basically we just slept through the entire bus trip.

All you have to do is ride a bus (South Bus terminal) or V-hire to Alcoy. The Bus fare for non-aircon is only Php 90 while for the aircon is around Php 120, I am not sure about the v-hire though.

But one thing I would recommend, the Bus is more comfortable because of the leg room.
The travel time would actually depend on the mode of transportation, since one of the common reasons why our travel time reached almost 2 hours in a half  was because our bus stops all the time to pick up passenger. If it’s going to be a private vehicle the travel time would only be around 1 hour to 1 hour and a half.

Since Tingko Beach is considered a public beach, do not expect it to be like a resort.
You can rent a cottage there for as low as Php200.  Not a bad deal actually and we rented a volleyball for only Php30 unlimited use.

Tingko Beach Alcoy Cebu

Alcoy’s sands and sea is exactly what they said it would be, the water is great and the sand is very fine.
We were able to play beach volley and dive in the sand without any scratches and bruises. Unlike other beaches were their sand contains coral stones; in Alcoy their sands has minimum to no coral stones at all.

Beach Volley + Fine Sand + Good Friends + Alcohol = FUN FUN FUN

Jump Shots!

I have visited a lot of beaches of course but aside from looking forward to the destination, it’s also nice to know that you are with your closes friends and love ones.

Piano Lessons

This is a Sponsored Post in behalf of

Does looking at a piano sheet making you feel like this?

One of my many regrets growing up was that I never really had any patience in learning any musical instruments. My biggest wish was to really learn how to play the PIANO.
When I was in high school, we have a subject called M.A.P.E which stands for (MUSIC, ARTS, and PHYSICAL EDUCATION) and I remember we tackled piano at that time, but my heart was not exactly in it already I was more focused on other subjects and sports.

Now growing up and finally having the ability to manage my schedule. My current job is not as demanding as my previous one; I finally have some free time. I finally manage to create my personal bucket list; and One of them is “Learn to play piano” even just to the intermediate level.

Since we are in the internet era, I tried searching for module or any affordable alternative ways to learn piano online. I stumbled at; for as little as 20 minutes a day you should be able to learn how to play the piano and play your favorite songs.

They created their own beginners program that will allow you to learn piano quickly, easily and in an affordable manner.

I totally agree with them that one is too old to learn how to play the piano!

Visit their Website and see for yourself!

The Jeep and its Glass Shift stick!

It has been almost a week since I last updated my blog. I have been pretty busy with Life, Love and Work lately (No Pun intended!).

Last weekend the gang decided to take a day trip to Alcoy for some SUN SAND and SEA.
The beach was awesome! Watch out for my post with pictures!

As rode a jeep towards the South Bus Terminal and I couldn’t help but notice that the jeeps Gear or shift stick.

It’s actually made of Glass or a material similar to glass and it has glitters inside!
Now that is a jeep with a sense of Style!

Good Job Manong Driver!

Till next time!

Summer has just officially ended! (as per PAGASA)
Since school has just started (for some it will be next week).
So say goodbye to those long hours of gimmick and beach parties and say hello to books, assignments and projects.

Well for me since I graduated 5 years ago, the end of summer usually means colder weather!
Well, I couldn’t be more wrong. It is still pretty hot and humid here in the queen city of the south (CEBU).
Not to mention the annoying rotating brownouts in the city! (Arrrrggg)

In order to beat the summer heat, aside from hitting the nearest starbucks and grabbing a green tea frap.
Since the fruit of the season is AVOCADO, tart decide to make a cold AVOCADO treat to help beat the summer heat.

I am really not quite sure what the literal English translation is but in Cebu we call it LAMAW or NILAMAW

It’s actually very refreshing and tasty at the same time.

The recipe is very simple, you just need Condense Milk, sugar and of course your RIPE avocado (make sure it’s ripe since avocado is quite bitter when it’s not yet ripe) and just mix all of it.

There are two ways to do it! You can add ice on it that’s the regular way to do it and the other is you put the avocado in the freezer then when about to be frozen you take it out, add milk and sugar and mix well. It actually tastes and feels like avocado ice-cream.

Levi's Kids campaign, For Little Toughies

Check out the one of Levi's Kids campaign For Little Toughies, The  I love the idea were it indirectly states to not just face your fear but conquer it.

Ever heard of the 3 little pigs and their houses? Well these little piggies are not your typical “run and hide for the big bad wolf is here”... They made the big bad wolf into a rug for crying out loud.

For Jack, no way a giant is going to bully him. :)

For Little Toughies... Levi's kids

New Heroes for DotA Version 6.68

Good News! to all the DotA addicts out there (such as myself).
There will be a new hero in DotA version 6.68
I’ve read countless DoTA blogs and forum unfortunately IceFrog has yet to release the hero’s abilities and skills.
One thing is for sure, icarus is just one of the new heroes they are developing for DotA version 6.68.

Q and A session with IceFrog:

Q: Can you tell us something about 6.68?
A: It is still a work in progress and needs some time, but it will have new heroes, more balance improvements, and some new features as well. Here is one of the new heroes in development: Icarus, the Phoenix

There are some forums and blog sites that are already debating and discussing the possible skills and primary stat.
Some say the said hero will be Intelligence base while other basing on the name “Phoenix” said it’s going to be more on agility.

But one thing for sure; DotA version 6.68 is going to be pretty exciting!

New Heroes means New Startegy

Boracay Escape

After our Iloilo escapades, we were a few hours away from our main destination which is BORACAY.
We stayed at station 1 Crown regency prince for 3 days and 4 nights, and wasted no time. Then moment we arrived in the hotel, we immediately hit the beach and basked in the sun.

Enjoyed eating at d’talipapa, you have never been to boracay if you have never eaten their.
Went clubbing at CLUB PARAW where we danced non-stop and I fell in love with their raspberry mojito.
The next day, woke up with a headache but was thankful that starbucks already invaded the island of BORACAY.  The best cure for a vodka hangover is a cup of your favorite starbucks drink and Tylenol.

We definitely enjoyed our summer get away.
Can’t wait for our next destination!

Till next time!

Iloilo’s batchoy is said to be the best since basically it originated there.
So when tart and I planned to have a vacation, we decided to take the scenic route to Boracay that is via ILOILO.  When tart ask me if I wanted to try something in  ILOILO the first thing that came into my mind was BATCHOY!

He took me to Ted’s old time La Paz Batchoy, and we ordered the super special batchoy.
It was definitely a feast for my taste buds; it was both yummy at the same time very tasty.
And they are very generous in their ingredients, since I feel that they placed more meat than noodles.

If ever you found yourself in ILOILO, you should definitely try their Batchoy!

I will be voting for ANG LADLAD for my party list. I will not be sharing to the public who I will be voting for president and vice president this coming National Election on Monday (May 10, 2009) and as for the reason. I’ll just place “Personal”.

I will be voting for ANG LADLAD since I want equal rights to all. regardless whoever you are and whatever your preferences might be. This is an issue that is close to my heart, since I have a lot of friends who have been mistreated either verbally or physically. I want someone to represent us in government and will serve as an amplifier to our small voice.

So I encourage each and everyone to vote for LADLAD. This is for EQUAL RIGHTS… :)

Me, it is the same as the other people... they say French toast I say breakfast.

But in 30’s Restaurant and Café here in Cebu, French toast is served all day not just a breakfast meal but as a Yummy Dessert as well..

So far, 30’s Restaurant and Café French toast has the yummiest and most sought after French toast in Cebu.

30’s Restaurant and Café is actually just a very simple and cozy restaurant located in Banilad Cebu in front of Paradise Village.
They serve a wide variety of food from steak to pasta to Panini at a very affordable price.

Balut experience

One ohhh so boring night while tart and I were smoking outside the office. A Balut vendor passed by us and we decide to give it a try.

Balut is a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg that is boiled and eaten in the shell.

Now I know that as much as possible we have to avoid eating this delicacy of ours since it is high on bad cholesterol Emphasis on the “BAD”

But hey the last time I was able to eat a Balut was 4-5 years ago since I saw my dad eat it and the duck was almost fully formed (Goosebumps). So this time, I let tart ate the duck part I just stick to the yummy yellow!

I forgot how tasty balut it actually is… Best eaten with salt and spicy vinegar!

The Best of Wowowee

Below are the questions and actual answers of Wowowee contest Participants. The Best of Wowowee!
I guess it’s a combination of Stress, plus the overwhelming desire to win that we tend to answer the darness things.

I guess we are all familiar what and how wowowee (the noon time show) goes right?
It’s actually one of those shoes that I like to watch especially when a person approaches Willie for help and I
get to witness how compassionate and giving the FILIPINOS are.

But when I received this email from ASH, an office colleague I can’t help but laugh at my station.

After 48 years: The Sea of Monsters

Finally Finally!!!… I was able to secure the second book of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series which is THE SEA of Monsters.

It took me more than a month and 48 years... not to mention countless follow up visits to secure a single paperback copy. Since the movie adaptation of the first book the lightning thief hit the theaters, his books were sold out instantly. I guess they all got curious I can’t blame them. If you think the movie was great, you should read the book it’s way way better.

Thought Bubble:

I am pretty sure that I left my name and contact at Fully Booked Ayala cebu, but why is it I have to make a phone call just for me to know that the book is available. I didn’t receive single phone call or a simple text message from them informing me that the book is already available. Maybe they only have limited number of books available and a lot of customers wanting a copy.

Anyways, Michael Scott’s The Secret of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series is still not available here.
I have listed my name and contact number in the waiting list of all the major bookstores in cebu. Still no word…

Oh well.. Let me worry about that next weekend when I am done reading my new book.
