Patria De Cebu’s Reflexo-Foot-Theraphy

It has always been the tradition that after a very long and strenuous trip or even a work week.
We should get pamper ourselves with either a SPA or a massage.  After our grueling yet very fun day trip from Alcoy my body was in need of some sort of healing touch. Tart suggested that we go have a reflexology at Patria de Cebu, I actually got curious and excited at the same time.

They call it Reflexo-Foot-Theraphy, their clinic is located on the left side of the Patria de Cebu building.
This is part of their Alternative Healing Clinic; it is recommended that you do this at least once a week.
To give you a brief background on what it’s all about:

Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hand with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. it is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change to the body”

Here is the MAP

In Patria De Cebu’s Reflexo-Foot-Theraphy is totally different from all the Spa’s or massage centers that you have encountered. First, you will need to bring your own towel and buy their Mineral Oil and 40% Alcohol.
Since they mostly rely on Donations so there is no standard amount.

If this is your first time, it’s going to be a bit painful. But if you are going to have it on a regular basis then the pain will be lessen.

So I suggest you go give it a try!

Parklane Hotel's Aquamarine Fitness and Wellness Gym

I have scouted the city looking for an affordable gym that has all the equipments I need, instructors and close to were I work.

Parklane Hotel's Aquamarine Fitness and Wellness Gym is one of my top choices; it’s conveniently located near AYALA CENTER CEBU and it’s a walking distance to my workplace (Ayala Business Park).

Personally I think all of us have this goal for the first quarter of the year to loose those excess pounds that we gained over the holiday period. Yes! I am guilty of indulging myself last December, Who can blame me and I know most of you guys can relate. We have like a bunch of reunions; from elementary, high school, to college, previous company and the list goes on. Part of the said reunion is of course eating out, coffee and alcoholic beverages.

Not to mention, SUMMER is here! So I am sure you made some new year’s resolutions that includes going to the GYM. Basing on the list that I had created, Yap! I did.

Aquamarine Fitness and Wellness Gym is located on the 4th floor of the Hotel conveniently right beside their pool and some restaurants. They have all the amenities that you need for your work out.

Monthly: 1500 (unlimited use of gym, pool and Jacuzzi)

AYALA ACTIVE ZONE

AYALA ACTIVE ZONE; Ayala center cebu’s latest addition to it already magnificent mall is a great news to all those who are into SPORTS and healthy lifestyle. It’s an all SPORTS, all WELLNESS lifestyle center.

This use to be the entertainment center, but since the recent renovation that gave way to the terraces.
Most of the food and dinning stores were move to the terraces.

Active zone mainly compose of stores that sells sports apparel, gears and accessories, like NIKE, ADIDAS, PUMA, and a lot more.
I like this set up since prior to going back to the gym after 48 years I needed new gears like shoes and gym bags. I was able to visit active zone and I was amaze at all the wide selection of sports apparel both LOCAL and International.

So for all those sports enthusiast and GYM RATS in CEBU come and visit the ACTIVE ZONE!

HAPUHAP EXPERIENCE

One of my friends from work was able to read my previous blog (Top 10 call centers in the Philippines), since then we were able to discuss the differentissues that call center employees experience. This includes (but not limited) to the following; Pressure in hitting the metrics (sales, CSAT, QA etc.), US time zone (Graveyard schedule) and erratic change in work schedules. All of this seems to lead to what we call the silent killer STRESS

According to Merriam Webster;

Stress is define as: a physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation

Now we all have different ways of coping up with stress that includes sleeping, shopping, coffee or even getting drunk. For me, it has always been going to a SPA for a massage.

HAPUHAP EXPERIENCE

Hapuhap” meaning a gentle touch

I and my good friend Gwendee went out to eat at one of the new restaurants in Cebu Mango area.
After a very hefty meal, we decided to get a relaxing massage. So immediately we texted our good friend and one of the owners of HAPUHAP, Dr. Francis Xavier if they are still open and can accommodate us.

One thing I love about hapuhap is that it is located near the Fuente Area (Business, Hotel and Night Life district of of cebu) it takes about 5 minutes by Cab from Fuente to V.Rama.
(a map going to hapuhap)

We were greeted warmly by Xavier and provided us the list of services they have and at that time it was 20% off (My lucky day or what?!). I immediately notice the nice and calm ambiance of the place.

Slowly I drifted into a calm and blissful sleep (Gwendee told me I snored...Now, that’s just a clear indication that I was really enjoying my massage.. Don’t you agree?! )

Overall the experience was really great, both the owner and the staff were very accommodating.
Not to mention their price is very reasonable, not to mention they also do home service.

If you are looking for a relaxing and calming massages or SPA to De-Stress and detoxify
I would recommend visiting HAPUHAP and start getting rid of those stresses.

We are becoming a Health conscious Republic!

As me and Pooh was walking in the mall, I noticed that Nescafe was having some kind of booth at the ground floor of SM CITY CEBU (along with AudioNet and other cell phone stores grand sale). Being a certified “I won’t function properly at work without coffee” I was curious and went see what the fuzz was all about. We just passed by and did not really stop to try out there new and healthy coffee (Interesting!). There were a lot of people lining up! I mean it a lot!

It actually got me thinking, people now a days are becoming health freaks (including me), we started to become conscious about the food that we eat, what we drink and our lifestyle. And gyms are starting to become very popular! Like metro sports, holiday gym and spa, Club ultima, fitness first and so on!.

Also one of the things I noticed was that L-carnitine became an instant hit. It all started with Fitrum (Loyalist here!), fit and right the fit and fab etc. Now even our coffee is becoming healthy; Nescafe is giving us a coffee that has 3 times more anti-oxidant than green tea! they called the program Nescafe Body Partner. Now I don’t have to feel guilty every time I consume around 4 cups of coffee in a shift.

Now it’s already becoming really healthy! And I am really happy on were we are going with this. I am not really a certified health freak (Yet!) but I am carefully watching my weight. Its not being vain it’s just being practical being sick causes more than buying healthy herbal supplements! Trust me I did the math!
