We are becoming a Health conscious Republic!

As me and Pooh was walking in the mall, I noticed that Nescafe was having some kind of booth at the ground floor of SM CITY CEBU (along with AudioNet and other cell phone stores grand sale). Being a certified “I won’t function properly at work without coffee” I was curious and went see what the fuzz was all about. We just passed by and did not really stop to try out there new and healthy coffee (Interesting!). There were a lot of people lining up! I mean it a lot!

It actually got me thinking, people now a days are becoming health freaks (including me), we started to become conscious about the food that we eat, what we drink and our lifestyle. And gyms are starting to become very popular! Like metro sports, holiday gym and spa, Club ultima, fitness first and so on!.

Also one of the things I noticed was that L-carnitine became an instant hit. It all started with Fitrum (Loyalist here!), fit and right the fit and fab etc. Now even our coffee is becoming healthy; Nescafe is giving us a coffee that has 3 times more anti-oxidant than green tea! they called the program Nescafe Body Partner. Now I don’t have to feel guilty every time I consume around 4 cups of coffee in a shift.

Now it’s already becoming really healthy! And I am really happy on were we are going with this. I am not really a certified health freak (Yet!) but I am carefully watching my weight. Its not being vain it’s just being practical being sick causes more than buying healthy herbal supplements! Trust me I did the math!

Pink Idioms: Hipon/Shrimp

Pink Idioms: Hipon/Shrimp

A guy with a great body but with an unattractive face.

The logic behind this is when you eat a shrimp/Hipon the only part of the shrimp that you can eat is the body and not the head. Now the opposite of this term is called a “Lollipop”, this means a guy with a not so attractive body (super skinny or chubby depending on your preference) but has an attractive face.

I have encountered a couple of blog talking about Hipon but seldom about lollipop, I don’t know if this is really the exact correct counterpart, now my biggest challenge would be to find the correct pink idiomatic expression of the following,

  • A person that has the complete package (face and body)
  • A person that has the opposite of what was mentioned above

Holiday Rush! What to do?!

Holiday is fast approaching; I can just see people clamoring on the hottest items and were to find a great buy. Department Stores are already starting to set-up Christmas decors and radio stations are already playing holiday carols. Thinking about it reminds me of my OH-So-Long list of people that they have to give gifts this holiday. Not to mention I have around 5 nephews who are so into toys it giving me a headache.

I work almost 10 hours a day, around 6 days a week. I am responsible for around 12 Customer Service agents. Personally I really don’t have the time to look for gifts; especially Now that my nephews already gave me their “DEAR SANTA” cards, The Pressure is on! Now I heard of sites online that will give you all the things you need in a click of a mouse. That’s nothing new, how about a site that compiles all of great buys from different online stores? I have discovered this new site online, SHOPWIKI.

What’s so cool about this site is that not only does it compile all the best deals online, but also give’s you a little background on the things that you buy. Now one of my nephew’s wish list was for basketball, now when you check on shopwiki, it also gives you all the things you need to know about basketball (equipments, overview on the game, etc). Hey! it also has NBA merchandise, now all I need to do is check and see who’s his favorite NBA player and buy an additional item! I think I can have my peace of mind now!

Just sharing my thoughts!

The Worlds Most Expensive Book: "Michelangelo:La Dotta Mano"

The Worlds Most Expensive Book: "Michelangelo:La Dotta Mano"

Being a certified book worm and in an effort to find a good book to read, honestly i don't go for "whats the most popular" today. but rather go for the not so well known author, i really don't know why but suddenly as i search with my good friend, i stumbled into this! the world’s most expensive book, this causes around 100,000 euros, which was $155,000.The book titled "Michelangelo. La Dotta Mano" meaning "the learned hand,"

the book has a front cover made of white marble from Michelangelo's favorite quarry, in Carrara. The binding is covered with red silk velvet handmade by the same shop in southern Italy as the main stage curtains at The Metropolitan Opera and Milan's Teatro Alla Scala. They not only call this the most expensive book but also “the most beautiful book in the world”

Worried about Warranty? The Michelangelo book has a 500-year warranty (amazing!)

  • The book is filled with photographs of Michelangelos drawings and sculptures — creations from the Sistine Chapel ceiling to his very personal poetry.
  • The book is filled with photographs of Michelangelo's sculptures and plates of his drawings, plus images of other creations, from the Sistine Chapel ceiling to his very personal poetry.

The display book was donated to the New York Public Library, a second to the Prado museum in Madrid and a third to the city of Bologna. In addition, more than 20 books have been sold so far to buyers around Europe and as far away as Malaysia,

The public can see "La Dotta Mano" from Tuesday morning through Dec. 8

if given an opportunity to personaly see this opening, why not! i ahve always been a great fan of art may it be modern or classic.

Orange lynx Batch 13 - Reunion

The date was September 19, 2005, I met this crazy and yet competitive bunch of people as I was hired to one of the outsourcing companies here in Cebu (Philippines),
We undergone New Hire orientation and was the proud member of Orange link-Sales batch 13.
more than 3 years had pass and a lot of us have moved on, some went out for the call center industries and some of us still managed to stay and some prospered.
Aside from constantly communicating with Gwendee and louella, I haven’t heared news from the other peeps.
Last Sunday Night, we met up for coffee at Starbucks (i wasn't able to get the stickers since they ran out Darn!) and drink/jam at the back of East West(Near Mango Avenue) . Since we were not really complete we decided to have another meeting.

Sunday (November 30, 2008) will be the official date for the Sales batch 13 reunion, I hope everyone can come and party/jam with us!

The Can Do CEBU team, celebrated its 2nd year anniversary, the theme was SAFARI SATURDAY. Everybody dressed up for the occasion, the food and drinks were overflowing! Aside from the fact that it was a really funny even it did proved one thing! That when there is teamwork, anything is possible! And that celebration was the evidence!

Agents, supervisors, Managers, trainers and QA'a working together to make this event work! No wonder we are on our second year and stronger than ever!

This was followed by an overwhelming dose of alcohol and laughter at kalye 80's, one thing i learned that night, never mix alcohol and niel all at one setting.. The result is both fun and catastrophic

Everyone was present! Too bad markee was not present!

What i miss the most

This is what I miss, FOOT MASSAGE...

I use to have it every weekend before when I was still in the day shift. But now that I am in the graveyard I seldom have time to go. The best times to go there is usually after shift, around 7pm and then just take a cab home, shower and sleep.

I go to Thewi Thai, its located near mango avenue.

It’s a very cozy place and apparently very busy as well but you get the service you deserve.

I’m planning on doing it this weekend! Who’s with me??!!

i think this is a start of a new tradition for our team, at least once a month that we eat out! and just have a plain good time!

Were the World Mine

Here ye! Here ye!

As always! i was trying to browse through on the latest indie film trailers in the hopes that it will somehow entice me to watch it whether online or decide it is worth looking for a CD.

So I looked at the usual sites, You tube and my space. I was able to come across some trailers but none enticed me more than this feature entry of mine.

The movie is called, Were the World Mine, a new independent musical film that’s won several awards at various film festivals. The movie is about this gay guy in a conservative small town who manages to create a love-pansy, inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is also prominently featured in the film. This purple love-pansy (of course it had to be purple!) turns practically everyone in town queer. As expected, campy gay hilarity ensues.

As usual I cannot wait to for this to be shown in the internet or better yet on the big screen (cinema)

I have to wish that, I hope Santa hears my demands this Christmas… :)

..of Glory in the Flower

I just want to share my favorite poem, about finding the strength to let go, the strength to move on and finally be free.....

"...Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower; We will grieve not, rather find Strength in what remains behind: ..."

[Event] Bed Fellas

I was browsing through the net again (that’s what you get if you have internet at home) trying to check the local scenes (events, parties, sales etc.) I came across this site that had this poster or picture up and it got me happy in a way that the people are really starting to accept the alternative lifestyle.

That is just great; I know that same sex marriage/legal partnership will not happen in my lifetime, considering I am in the Philippines. But comparing this a decade ago, I am happy with what we have.

A friend told me “baby Steps” its taking too long.. I said, “How do you think sprint runners started? They started with baby steps”…

An Inspiring Love Story...

I was blog hopping tying to read other people entry and comment on it as well. I stumble upon a great read, tiggah is a Filipino blogger based on California. tiggah and pooh are best friends(tiggah is gay and pooh is supposedly straight) there love story is super kilig... they have been now together for 7 years (to those who are a non believer on long term relationship, they do exist.)

Our Story : Chapter 1 - Coming Out

I can remember when Pooh first came out to me. I was shaking, nervous, and anxious. My palms were sweaty and I couldn't look him in the eye. I was surprised and didn't know what to say. How could my straight best friend of 2 years suddenly tell me that he's gay? Deep inside I knew that I felt that way because I had a crush on him all this time but knew that nothing could ever come of it because he was straight. It's a strange feeling to finally come to terms and accept the fact that it could never happen, then suddenly, in an instant, a door opens. A door of opportunity seemed to have magically appeared out of nowhere. The question would seem to be - Do I rush right in before that door suddenly closes? Do I enter with caution? Or do I do nothing? more...(Go to Tiggah's blog)

The GOOD, the BAD and the Ugly side of Life as depicted in a postcard

I was browsing through some site thinking of stuff to write, and then I ended up being in the post secret site. I was looking through some postcards sent by anonymous people trying to express what they feel inside.
Now I am choosing these postcards from that site, this is dedicated to my friends and Love ones.
The GOOD, the BAD and the Ugly side of Life as depected in a postcard....

what is post secret?

The simple concept of the project was that completely anonymous people decorate a postcard and portray a secret that they had never previously revealed. No restrictions were (or are) made on the content of the secret; only that it must be completely truthful and must never have been spoken before. Entries range from admissions of sexual misconduct and criminal activity to confessions of secret desires, embarrassing habits, hopes and dreams. More..

One on One with Mom (Over Coke!)

Was 7:00 am in the morning and I was busy Blog hopping, and playing computer games just a typical weekend for me. But suddenly “BROWNOUT!!!!” (DARN!) so I just read my favorite book for now “Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the ring”.

Suddenly! ZZZzzzzZZZzzzz I was sleeping, my younger brother (Dexter) was waking me up telling me its breakfast time. So about an hour or two I woke up they were all done! (hahay!) and my mom was the only one in the table. I was thinking, maybe I should skip breakfast and just sleep, but the smell of the food really woke up my appetite. So I sat down in front of her and we suddenly talked..

Then before I knew it, we were talking for around 1 hour and the best thing about it I realized that while I was busy with my life, she was just waiting for her chance because she missed talking to me. “Panagsa nalang baya ta mag-kita (We seldom see each other). Because she knows how busy I am (*wink!), so I was a bit guilty so I decided let’s get more coke…. The rest is history

I really cannot talk about what we discussed but the good thing is I get to laugh with my mom once again after ages of not doing so! And yes as corny as it sounds I really did miss my mom…

--A Weekend Thought!---

I just want to share this nice little message, i hope you guys can relate!

There are moments in life when you miss someone

so much that you just want to pick them from

your dreams and hug them for real!

When the door of happiness closes, another opens;

but often times we look so long at the

closed door that we don't see the one,

which has been opened for us.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive.

Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.

Go for someone who makes you smile,

because it takes only a smile to

make a dark day seem bright.

Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Dream what you want to dream;

go where you want to go;

be what you want to be,

because you have only one life

and one chance to do all the things

you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,

enough trials to make you strong,

enough sorrow to keep you human and

enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily

have the best of everything;

they just make the most of

everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always

be based on a forgotten past;

you can't go forward in life until

you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying

and everyone around you was smiling.

Live your life so at the end,

you're the one who is smiling and everyone

around you is crying.

Don't count the years - count the memories!

Finally! its my rest day! ZZzzzZZZzzZZZzzz

Food for Though! - Respect!

“I have far respect for the person with a single idea who gets there..
Rather than the person with a thousand ideas who does nothing”

->This quotation does make sense and often makes me think!
Which am i? I guess a little bit of both (I know it’s not there!) but you have to admit
That often times we do have like “Eureka moments”, we start a project but lack the diligence to really continue with it! personally i am guilty of this!

Thanks to
Mark A! For this message of the day!
